One visit, done
Gerry — often with his grandson — does the repair. Reviewers clock most visits at 30 minutes to two hours.
Repair beats replacement — until it honestly doesn't
A patch uses donor carpet from a closet or a leftover remnant. A re-stretch reuses every inch you already own. Either way, one bad spot stops costing you a whole room of good flooring.
And when replacement really is the better deal, Gerry says so. That's not a slogan — it's on the record in his reviews.
"We got a quote over the phone of $225 for [patching]… he informed me that for just $300 flat he could re-carpet the whole room, meaning no unsightly patches. We said Yes! The whole process took less than two hours."

Thurston County, on the record
Gary and Sean were very responsive and patched a hole in my carpet to where you would not know it was damaged. I support veteran owned business and highly suggest you call Ace.
My little dog tore a hole in our carpet… I thought I would have to replace it until I spoke to Gerry who said he could fix it for us. He came right over and repaired it quickly.
Gerry came out and stretched the carpet in three rooms and a hallway for a flat rate. We ended up giving him more than he quoted… He really could charge more for his work!

Questions homeowners actually ask
How much does carpet repair cost?
It depends on the size of the damage and how the room is laid out, so Gerry quotes each job — the estimate is free, and reviewers mention flat-rate quotes that were honored as given. Describe the damage over the phone and you'll get a straight answer, not a sales visit.
How long does a repair visit take?
Most are quick. Reviewers clock a patched hole at about 30 minutes, pet damage on stairs at about an hour, and a multi-room re-stretch at under two hours.
Do you serve Olympia, Tumwater and Yelm?
Yes. Ace is based in Lacey and works across Thurston County — Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater and Yelm. Farther out? Call and ask; if it's not a fit, Gerry will say so.
What makes Ace different from a flooring store?
Stores make their money installing new floors, so repair is a sideline. Repair is Ace's whole business — Gerry's own listing says he specializes in flooring repairs, not installation. Nobody here earns a commission by talking you into replacement.
Can a hole in carpet actually be repaired?
Usually, yes. A donor piece from a closet or leftover remnant gets fitted and blended into the spot. One reviewer wrote you "would not know it was damaged."
Do you fix pet urine damage or just the visible spots?
Damaged carpet and pad in the affected patch get cut out and replaced, not covered up. If the damage has spread too far for a patch to be worth it, Gerry tells you that instead of taking the job.
How can I pay?
Cash, Zelle or credit card — whatever's easiest for you.
Is Ace licensed and insured?
Yes — Washington contractor license ACECAIC000RO, held since 2000, with $1,000,000 in liability insurance. You can verify both in about a minute at the state L&I contractor lookup.
